A poor credit history is often a problem when applying for a new personal loan. Still, plenty of bad credit unsecured loans are available in the marketplace. These special loans are for borrowers who usually cannot get a loan elsewhere because they made late payments in the past, had arrears, defaulted on payments or had CCJs and usually have a low FICO score, indicating high risks for the lenders. Before applying for a loan you should check your credit score. If it is lower that you expected, check it for errors. Even minor errors can significantly hurt your credit rating. So, if you ever suspect that your low credit score is caused by an error, you should contact the credit reporting agencies and challenge them about the report. It is part of the law that the reporting agency should investigate and correct the errors within thirty days if there are any.
